Well, the longer answer is that the beauty industry seems to have reached a point of total saturation when it comes to making women feel insecure about their appearance, so has now turned its attention towards making men feel so suffocated by constant unobtainable images that they’re forced to spend money in a doomed attempt to hush their nagging sense of self-hatred.

Doomed

=likely to have an unfortunate and inescapable outcome; ill-fated.

=Assured to suffer death, failure, or a similarly negative outcome. 

(=not hopeful, <-> blessed)

 

-> If something is doomed to happen, or if you are doomed to a particular state, something unpleasant is certain to happen, and you can do nothing to prevent it.

-> The plan was doomed from the start.

-> Dinosaurs were doomed to extinction. 공룡들은 멸종될 운명이었다.

-> I was pretty sure that the family in the movie, Parasite were doomed to split-up.

 

Hush

=조용히 해! 조용히 시키다

-> Hush now and try to sleep.

-> Their wedding was very hush-hush.(쉬쉬하다)

-> (예문 만들기) All the classmates were hush-hush about the accideent.

 

Nagging

1) (of a person) constantly harassing someone to do something.

-> I wanted to get away from my nagging parents.

2) persistently painful or worrying.

-> a nagging stomachache

 

Hatred [헤이트릳]

=증오

=a very strong feeling of dislike

=aversion =loathing

 

-> She felt nothing but hatred for her attacker.

-> The room was charged with hatred.
